ClamWin and Duplicates

Postby MartynK » Fri Jul 14, 2006 4:49 am

I have been running ClamWin now for ages without issue, but I just upgraded to the latest version 0.88.3 and I have now started to get the odd duplicate email. I have found as soon as I switch this off, the duplicates go away.

Anyone else had any issues ?

Postby activelobby.sim » Sat Sep 09, 2006 4:25 am

HELP PLEASE

I want help on integrating clamwin with mailenable

when i searche di got these steps
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
Hot to install ClamWin with MailEnable (http://forum.mailenable.com/viewtopic.p ... v&start=15)

1. Download and install ClamWin (I used 0.35.2)
Available at www.clamwin.org
2. Install to "C:\Program Files\ClamWin"
3. Change the logfile to somewhere nice.
4. Create the directory "C:\Program Files\ClamWin\VirusDB" and change the ClamWin setting.
5. Download the latest virus defs using the program.
6. Import the registry file (enables ME to use the scanner).
Available at www.publicplanet.com\MEFilter\ClamWin\MEAVCLM.Zip
7. Add the entry "MEAVCLM" to the list of processing order.

Do this by using RegEdit and changing the key:

"HKLM\Software\Mail Enable\Mail Enable\Agents\MTA\Filters\Processing Order"

This is a comma seperated list, you can put it wherever you want.

8. Using the ME Administrator program configure any required options.
9. Restart the MTA process.
10. Press the "Test" button
No results should be returned in the window, but the message "Command line scanner returned: 1" should be at the bottom of the window.

And thats it.
//////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////

But i am not able to locate www.publicplanet.com\MEFilter\ClamWin\MEAVCLM.Zip
inorder to proceed.
Please help me

Regards
Sim

clamav

Postby claudioszykman » Wed Sep 20, 2006 1:48 pm

Hi

i am using command line for clamav

clamwin is the same as clamav but it has a windows interface

clamav is a little bit faster and has a good clamscan command line

i am using together with mta event in me standard

my pickup event will count recipients if it just one it will use mefilter to scan and then proceed with the clamav scan if the message is not alreday deleted...

this way it will also only scan smtp connector messages and left sf connector free

i think this avoid duplicated messages

unfortunatly i dont know the current avscan filter for me professional

good luck

Claudio

Here is a script that I cobbled together for use by a client.

For this particular client they are running ME Pro with SpamAssassin scanning all messages at the MTA level as a "Pickup event" (using SAPlugin.exe). SA scans the message and tags the subject line with "[spam?]".
