Tasked with setting up SMTP relay server? MailEnable Standard OK?

Postby engineertin » Thu Feb 16, 2017 10:28 pm

Hi all,

I hope everyone is doing great! I have a silly question. I'm new to all of this and have just been tasked with setting up an SMTP relay server in our domain for our dev/test team, so they can send emails from their applications from specific servers.

I suppose they just need to see the formatting results of the emails they're creating within their apps. Can MailEnable Standard help? Anyone have any pointers or links to share? Thanks so much in advance!

Hi,

If you need to use MailEnable as an SMTP relay then your developers need to either configure their applications to authenticate via username/password of a mailbox that resides in a MailEnable postoffice in order to be granted relay rights. Alternatively you can grant relay rights via privileged IP addresses without the need to authenticate under the SMTP relay properties.
