[SOLVED] Inbound Bindings Test

Postby Flohama » Tue Jan 31, 2017 3:29 pm

I'm facing a odd problem when running MailEnable on a windows server (2012 R2 Standard). The MailEnable system diagnose shows a lot Passes but also two Warnings. The SMTP Inbound Bindings Test failed because "No Server Detected" for 127.0.0.1 and the server's static ipv4-Adrress.

I tried "telnet 127.0.0.1 25" -> Nothing
I tried "telnet static-ipv4 25" -> Nothing
I tried "telnet localhost 25" ... and ESMTP MailEnable Service is ready.
However, it is possible to ping 127.0.0.1 and the static address.

Any suggestions? Thank you all.

Hi,

Within the SMTP properties window under the "Inbound" check in the IP bindings window that you are binding to all IP addresses. Then restart the service and check the SMTP debug log file and ensure there are no reported conflicts on port 25.

Thank you.

The binding options where correct but your second hint solved the problem. The IIS SMTP service blocked port 25.
