[SOLVED] Error 10053 Communications Error sending attachments to AOL

Postby irelandp » Sat Jan 07, 2017 11:42 am

Hi,

I am running MailEnable standard edition v9.53 (fantasitic bit of software - thanks to the developers).

Normally I have no issues sending or receiving email. However, a problem has just come to light sending emails with attachments to aol.com.

I CAN send emails to a user account with no attachments
I CANNOT send emails to the same user account with a small Word document attached. The error is:

01/06/17 23:57:57 ME-I0026: [459015AE9A3040A98B5CF8F76CB7D56F.MAI] Sending message

(NOTE: the Warning: Could not ...., occurs with the email with no attachment that is sent without problems)

Help appreciated.

Paul

Hi,

Do you route external emails through a spam gateway or proxy? Since this happening with messages that contain specific attachments then I would suspect a proxy or gateway is filtering the data being transmitted and dropping the connection. Does the same behavior occur when sending a message with the same attachment to Gmail or Hotmail servers?

Hi,

My Mailenable is directly connected to the internet and does not go through any gateway or proxy. However, the problem is now resolved and it was NOT a Mailenable problem!

I raised a ticked with AOL using their website https://postmaster.aol.com/

This has a number of other services to check the status of you IP address to see how AOL "views you". I was contacted by AOL support who have now resolved the issue.

Thanks for your suggestions.
