What are your server's specs: processor, 32-bit/64-bit, ram, HDD size, number of accounts, windows version, number of average or peak IMAP accounts, and version of ME?

Deleted Email Does Not Exist

I have a user who deletes email from selecting it and then clicking on the trash can icon. It is not always but once in a while an email is deleted (and it always seems to be an important one) and it does not exist anywhere. I clear all the index files, they clear their cookies, anything possible to...

Re: How to move from HMS to MailEnable Enterprise 9.5?

What you can do is POP3 each account into Outlook, download the emails and recreate the folders. Once you have all the emails down, create the account in ME and connect via IMAP and manually push the emails back up to your ME server. I have done this many times and it works.

Re: Report as spam issues

Report as spam deletes the email permanently (and gone forever) and places the IP address and email address blocked. The email address can be unblocked in webmail under the blacklist option (if you have that setting enabled). The IP address can be checked if blocked under SMTP Properties.

Re: Robustness bug: MailEnable logging stops after disk full

I would recommend moving ME to either a much larger drive on a fresh install or a new server with very large drive/s so you can use the logs as you intend.

Re: Certain mails not showing

You can also delete all the _index files and whatnot and the server will rebuild it automatically.

Re: Fighting Hackers

Does the actual abuse (the one with repeated attempts) seem to come from the same class C IP address? Does it appear to come from a specific geography? You can enable the Windows firewall to help with these attacks from these ideas.

Re: Want to track spamming email address or IP wtih port SMTP 10/ SMTPS 587 Connection

Are you wanting to track for a report or to identify and spam it? You can blacklist an IP address under DNS properties or an email address (or a domain). That is one way. The other way is to use MXScan and have it do all of your filtering.

Re: URL Blacklisting configuration

What I use is MXScan as the primary spam filter and only use ME's spam filter as a secondary (not as aggressive) filter. As a result, spam levels have dropped and things are much more controllable. The configuration is fairly simple without having to understand positive and weights for scoring.

Re: How to block TLD's.

You can create a filter and set the from to be *.tld (whatever the tld is). It works because I had to do it.

Re: Click "REPORT AS SPAM" By Accident

When you click on Report as Spam, it deletes the email and reports the IP address (in the webmail) on a blacklist. Any email from that person, even if from the same domain as you, will be blocked. You will have to delete the IP address/email address from the blacklist. Once you have done that, then ...

I will admit to you that going from a 32-bit to a 64-bit system and OS makes a major performance difference and more stable.
